Portland Dance Eclectic

The music for this dance is approximately 50% waltz with the rest being anything from night club two-step and west coast swings to blues, tango and latin dances. New music is always mixed in with familiar favorites. If you have not been to one of our events the waltzes we play differ greatly in tempo, style, and their cultural roots.
On the first Thursday of the month, Gerhardt gives a half hour beginner's lesson in the turning waltz.

Get ready for the Mid-Summer Night's Waltz Ball under the stars at Laurelhurst Park on August 23. Work on control to make the best of bumps and to navigate the "rough terrain". Practice tight turns for tight curves. Add some pretty moves to match the elegance of the evening.
